Session 6

This week you are going to write about your experiences in the 'Different Week' adding your opinions about it ( which will be kept secret 🙊 )

Start your narrative essay with a strong opening statement to attract the reader's attention. Then, provide an overview of the narrative in a few sentences. End the first paragraph with a thesis statement to explain the main point of your essay.

A narrative essay is usually at least five paragraphs. You can write one paragraph for the introduction, three body paragraphs and one for the conclusion. If you're submitting your essay for a school assignment, award or application, review the length requirements to ensure you follow them.

Deadline : 3rd November 8 am

  1. Last week our school had the “Different Week” where instead of studying and having normal classes, we did different activities and went to some places in our town.

On the first day we had an activity about violence, smoking and drugs. Some police officers explained to us why they are bad and answered some of our questions. Later on we went to “Logiscool” and I think that was my favorite activity, because I find programming and coding really interesting.

Another activity that we had was at school, where we learned about emotions and learned how to manage them. Before that we had a math test that lasted two hours. I didn’t find this day as entertaining as the others but that’s just my opinion.

At the end of the week we went with our class to a restaurant in the park and spent some time there, some classmates were chatting and the others were riding electric scooters, carts and other fun things. After everyone finished eating we walked to the theater to watch a play and that’s how the “Different Week” ended.

In conclusion I don’t think that this week was bad, but it definitely wasn’t as good as the past years. I didn’t like that some activities were cancelled since we already stayed only one or two hours at school, but I did like that I learned a few new things.

  2. And after all these weeks of school full of stress, work and white nights, we got something like a “reward”: Different Week. This Different Week is a week with different activities instead of normal classes. In my opinion, this week is more like a short break from school, or a pretext for not coming to school but to rest and study.
My “Different Week” started with a day off from school, but instead I studied for my Math Exam Simulation for the other day. From what I know from my colleagues who went to school, they had an Anti-Drugs activity that consisted in a discussion on this topic and a poster made by them. After that, the went to Logiscool, that is programming courses, where they created some sort of educational game. Then, the second day started with my Exam Simulation, which isn’t actually part of the program, but my Math teacher insisted for a simulation, so she included it in this week. Then, we had an activity about the management of emotions which was pretty interesting, but I didn’t understand too much because of my after-exam mixed feelings.
On the third day of “Different Week” my class stayed home. On this day off I studied and rested all day, because, in my opinion, this is also an important part of this week other than the activities. Then on the fourth day, we went to theatre and we watched a piece which was about five teens who deep understood their existence, their personalities and others aswell. The piece was fascinating, but the opinions in my class are mixed.
On the last day of this week my class strayed home because we didn’t have any more activities left.
In my opinion, this week was pretty interesting and was aswell a break from stress and too much work. It could have been better if some of my colleagues cared a little or at least didn’t disturb some of the activities, but overall it was a good week.

  3. The 'Different Week' it's the week full of happiness and fun that happened to me in only 4 days.
It all began with a captivating antidrugs activity on Monday. We learned about staying away from drugs and keeping our bodies healthy. Then, on Tuesday, a trip to Bucharest to a playground named Hybe By Kiddo where i had a great time with my friends. Wednesday we had the math simulation which was quite difficult but I managed to write correctly on most of the problems, and Thursday I had 2 activities, one in the morning and one in the evening. In the morning I did the simulation problems with the math teacher where I realized that I had written correctly the previous day and the evening where we were supposed to go to the theater with the class, but I went with my friends from the class to play ping pong at one of our houses. And Friday was a free day.
The 'Different Week' was beautiful and I had fun. I liked Tuesday the most because I left the city where I stay all the time. The other days were boring but it was still better than a normal school week.

  4. This week is the one which I understood the value of friendship and the importance of mutual help. I started the week with a trip to Bucharest, together with my colleagues and with my teachers.
The first stop was at a fun place where for a few hours I experienced various games and activities. At one point I ran out of cards and I couldn’t continue the game, but my friends offered me the cards I needed to complete the game.
After the moments spent there, we went for a walk through the Herastrau park, where we spent wonderful moments and we went for a ride on theboat. We got hungry on the boat, and I offered my friends sandwiches. After a successful day, I realized that I have wonderful friends.
We continue the week with the play "The day we understood" where we learned order for the relationships between students, teachers and parents to work, we need to be more open with each other.
In the "Different Week" I learned new things, enjoyed the experiences and the importance of friendships with my classmates.

  5. This year, the “Different Week” wasn’t tiring at all. We had done some interesting activities, that I really liked.
On Monday we had an anti-drug activity that I couldn’t get to, but our teacher told what happened to the children who weren’t present. On Tuesday we went to Bucharest. First, we spent four hours at Hype by Kiddo, a place where you can climb some high walls that are around 10 meters, jump on trampolines of different sizes, or try your luck at arcade games. After, we went to the Herastrau park, where we had a boat ride and visited the park. We also went to the Children's Land to eat McDonald’s.
On Wednesday our class had Math simulation. We wrote on our knees because we were in the festivities room. It was an unforgettble experience. On Thursday we went to school and solved the Math simulation subject. In the evening we went to a play called “The day I understood”. It was funny and all of us liked it.
This week wasn’t the best “Different Week” I ever had, but it was alright.

  6. Catalina

A girl's perspective on the Different Week with her not too trouble making colleagues. The week started off exciting and relaxing, but ended feeling dull and quite tiring. The small group talked, laughed and had a great time together that week without  any hesitation. The reason why children should have fun and talk with their classmates during school through different activities is that it helps them increase the quality of their social interactions.

The girl found her Monday very uninteresting and extremely unoriginal, but thanks to the other colleagues it was a little fun. That activity became like a tradition in her school, repeating itself every single year. It was a small talk with some lovely policewomen and policemen about drugs and unhealthy habits.

The next day was her favourite. She went on an all-day trip to the capital Bucharest with a few other classes. The teens first headed to a nice area, full of games and climbing walls, which they all enjoyed. Then the pupils walked to a nearby park and felt the air breeze on the delicate boat, on the lake. After a quick stroll around the park and an endlessly long drive, they arrived at the McDonald's and devoured their tasty food. The drive back home was awsome, everyone was chatting, dancing, singing and having fun.

That Wednesday, the girl had her Maths exam simulation. She was stressed but  calmed down by her classmates and was hoping for something easy. Even if she had a hard time studying for it, she was indeed happy that her teacher organised it. She thought she did just fine, until the next day, in the afternoon, when they met at school to solve the exercices. Later that day, the girl went at the theatre with some of her friends and with other pupils and teachers. The play was very current and interesting and everyone joked around about it. Some highschoolers could easily relate to it and was overall pleasant to watch. It was a sweet way to end the week.

This kind of activities made the young lady realise how everything is better when there is a bigger group and how easy it is to socialise with other people her age.

    1. The structure of the composition should be as the one before . Catalina's , I mean . It is not just a paragraph. On the other hand to write " I " other than in capital letter is unjustifiable at this level of English .
