  1. About the poem from task 1 i can say that it is a girl who tries not to go to school using excuses until she realizes that the day she was in is saturday. My conclusion is that you need to check the day before using excuses to not go to school.

    “Sick” by Shel Silverstein
“Sick” by Shel Silverstein is humorous, short poem in which Peggy Ann McKay is complaining about various medical issues so that she wouldn’t have to go to school.
The humor of the poem is given by the fact that the little girl is exaggerating when she is describing her symptoms of lots of illnesses. She starts by expressing her dissatisfaction about some infectious sicknesses like: the measles; the mumps and pox. The little girl proceeds by expressing her annoyance about some more physical issues then talking about some of the flu’s symptoms.
In the end, while still trying to create excuses Peggy Ann McKay finds out it is actually Saturday and doesn’t need to go to school so instead she goes out to play with all her medical issues disappearing all of a sudden.

    SUMMARY
It all starts when little Peggy said that she can’t go to school. She tries to come up with all kind of excuses so that she can stay home.
The young girl first says some small injuries, yet she ends up saying that she has instamatic flu and that her leg is broke. She also exaggerates by saying that she has issues that young people don’t usually have, like her back is wrenched, her neck is stiff or her hair is falling out, and she even says that her brain is shrunk.
Before Peggy says everything she wants to, one of her parents tells her that it is Saturday and when she hears that, she runs out to play without saying anything else.

    Summary

“Sick” by Shel Silverstein is a hilarious poem about a child who tries to find an excuse to not go to school.

The child tells her parents lot of reasons that she could better stay home. She starts saying she has measles, bumps and chicken pox to mention that she has a wrenched back, stiff neck and shrunk brain. After the girl lists all the symptoms she knew, one parent said to her is Saturday. She remained shocked and suddenly said that she goes to play.

The poem is funny and makes you smile or maybe laugh and I’m sure you can’t stay serious.
